Partnership Teams | Education and Outreach

Jennifer Close
Associate Manager

Jennifer Close joined the Partnership in January 2009 as a Development Fellow before being hired as a Program Associate for the Education and Outreach team.  Although she will primarily be responsible for coordinating the Annenberg Speakers Bureau, her portfolio will also include other Call to Serve programs designed to promote public service among students on college and university campuses.

In the spring of 2008, Jennifer graduated from Boston College with a degree in International Studies and Faith, Peace and Justice.  During her collegiate tenure, Jennifer was involved with campus and community life, particularly service activities.  She not only acted as a coordinator for the International Assistants and 4Boston Women’s Lunch Place volunteer initiatives, but also participated in service-learning programs in both Ecuador and Morocco.

Additionally, Jennifer worked in the Boston College Office of International Students and Scholars where she educated international students about American immigration, passport, visa and work regulations.  During her junior year, Jennifer studied abroad in Madrid.

Jennifer’s passion for both national and international service, as well as public policy, manifested itself fully during her senior year when she wrote her undergraduate honors thesis entitled Agenda-Setting for Global Public Health: The Need for a Horizontal Perspective in the Public and Political Arenas.  This work examined the nature of agenda-setting and policy formation, and how various items can be positioned on the agenda of the United States government and attended to by policymakers once there.

Jennifer is originally from New Jersey.

The Partnership for Public Service is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that works to revitalize our federal government by inspiring a new generation to serve and by transforming the way government works.
