Program Associate

Craig Swaisgood joined the Partnership as a Program Associate for Government Affairs in August 2008. A native of the Midwest, Craig has also spent a substantial amount of time in the South and Northeast.

Prior to joining the Partnership, Craig earned an M.P.A. in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service, where he served as President of the Wagner Student Association and worked with a 12-member board to oversee more than 20 public service groups. While at Wagner he worked with youths in underserved communities, which is a continuation of the work he did between his Bachelor’s and Master’s at the National Youth Advocate Program. His youth issues experience ranges from juvenile justice and foster care to education and governmentally funded summer programs.

Prior to his work with youths, Craig gained political experience through a variety of positions, including a Presidential campaign, a targeted U.S. Senate campaign, a political party and a legislative internship on Capitol Hill with Senator John Kerry.

Craig also holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of South Carolina, where he first became active in public service.

The Partnership for Public Service is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that works to revitalize our federal government by inspiring a new generation to serve and by transforming the way government works.
