PARTNERSHIP FOR PUBLIC SERVICE APPLAUDS SENS. CARPER AND COLLINS, AND REPS. CARNAHAN AND BIGGERT FOR INVESTING IN FEDERAL WORKFORCE AROUND ENERGY-EFFICIENCY

WASHINGTON –Partnership for Public Service President and CEO Max Stier released the following statement today applauding Sens. Tom Carper (D-DE) and Susan Collins (R-ME), and Reps. Russ Carnahan (D-MO) and Judy Biggert (R-IL) for introducing the Federal Buildings Personnel Training Act of 2010:

“Federal employees perform at their best when they are highly trained, deeply knowledgeable and continuously educated.

As the General Services Administration embarks on an unprecedented investment in energy-efficient infrastructure, the Federal Buildings Personnel Training Act of 2010 ensures that federal employees will have the training needed to maintain it. Continuous training in the core competencies necessary to operate “green” technology will ensure federal buildings, and those who work on them, will keep up with industry best practices.

The Partnership for Public Service looks forward to working with Senators Carper and Collins, and Representatives Carnahan and Biggert in support of this important legislation. We commend them for their leadership and ongoing commitment to government efficiency and effectiveness.”
