PARTNERSHIP FOR PUBLIC SERVICE APPLAUDS WHITE HOUSE EXECUTIVE ORDER ON STUDENT PATHWAYS
WASHINGTON –Partnership for Public Service President and CEO Max Stier released the following statement applauding President Obama’s Executive Order to establish clear student pathways into federal service.
“The federal government took a significant step in opening the door to a new generation of public servants. The President’s Executive Order prioritizes students and recent graduates as key talent sources for entry-level government jobs.
For too long, government has underutilized its internship programs and left highly qualified, proven talent on the table. The single internship program gives agencies and managers greater flexibility to hire students who have successfully demonstrated their capabilities, eliminates confusion among potential job seekers and helps raise the prestige of federal service on college campuses across the country.
In addition, the new recent graduate program and enhanced Presidential Management Fellows Program (PMF) will help ensure that government has the specialized skills needed to fill many of its mission critical occupations.”
