Speakers Bureau Overview
Best Practices Worksheet
Annenberg Speakers Bureau
The Walter and Leonore Annenberg Public Service Speakers Bureau is a dynamic, diverse group of federal employees ready to educate audiences about the federal workforce and to inspire a new generation to serve. Speakers visit college campuses and other student venues to promote public service and provide resources that will raise awareness of federal career opportunities among young people. Speakers Bureau events range in size and style to fit the needs of the host venue while uniformly providing an experience that demonstrates the profound impact one can make in federal service.
The Speakers Bureau provides an engaging way to put a face on government and augment the Partnership’s innovative education and outreach efforts.
This program is made possible with the generous support of the Annenberg Foundation.
Request Guidelines
- You must be a Call to Serve member at the time of your request in order to be eligible to host a speaker on your campus.
- Given the time and expense required to send speakers to a campus or other student venue, we ask that they meet with at least 50 students during the course of their visit.
- The Annenberg Foundation grant allows us to cover travel, lodging and meal expenses for our speakers. If you would like to host a breakfast, lunch or reception for a speaker and faculty members or students at your school, you will be responsible for those charges. For additional ideas of speaker events, please see our Best Practices Worksheet.
- Due to the overwhelming number of requests and work schedules of our speakers, we cannot guarantee that you will be matched with a speaker. We will do our best to accommodate your request and appreciate your patience. It is important to note that whereas campus visits can sometimes be more difficult to match, we are almost always able to match speakers with schools for videoconferencing.
Speaker Request Form
Please submit requests for speakers at least 8-10 weeks prior to the event date. Please try to provide as much information as possible about the event in your request. We will contact you after we have reviewed your request.
The deadline for the spring semester has closed. We will be accepting applications for Fall 2010 until July 23rd. Thank you.
The Partnership for Public Service is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that works to revitalize our federal government by inspiring a new generation to serve and by transforming the way government works.
