Many already know that public service is a great opportunity to accomplish that goal, yet they have limited awareness and understanding of government jobs and internships. The Call to Serve initiative is designed to bridge the knowledge gap for students and their advisors.
Participating schools have signed a “Statement of Purpose” that commits them to educating their students about opportunities in the federal civil service. These schools:
Participating Call to Serve federal agencies communicate with the campus coordinators in our network to provide guidance on how students can find information about and pursue jobs in federal service.
The Partnership offers support to school coordinators in creating events, identifying speakers, gathering materials and providing other assistance throughout the year.
Call to Serve Events
The Partnership provides professional development for university advisors around federal opportunities through onsite training and virtual webinar conference calls. These trainings equip you with the knowledge and resources needed to effectively advise students on the federal job search and application process and build federal service as a brand on your campus.

The Call to Serve toolkit serves as a “how-to” guide for schools looking for ways to better inform students about federal job and internship opportunities.

An online forum designed to energize Call to Serve agency and school members to educate students about exciting professional opportunities with the federal government.
Call to Serve Innovation Grants
At the center of the Call to Serve Initiative are the Innovation Grants. Recipient universities are learning how to effectively promote federal service opportunities and help their students land federal internships and jobs.

Call to Serve Speakers Bureau
Federal employees visit college campuses and other student venues to promote public service and provide resources that will raise awareness of federal career opportunities among young people.

Utilize our contacts within more than 75 federal agencies to build relationships and connect your students to meaningful job and internship opportunities within government.
