At the Partnership for Public Service, we are committed to helping agencies overcome these barriers and create strategies that can be deployed across government.
First released in 2003, our annual Best Places to Work in the Federal Government® rankings are the most comprehensive analysis of employee satisfaction and commitment in the federal workspace. They are used by agency leaders and Congress to drive change and draw attention to the health of the federal workforce and its role in achieving effective government. This commitment to using leadership to improve employee engagement resulted in sustained increases in our government’s effective leadership and strategic management Best Places to Work index scores since 2010.
The Partnership also drives employee engagement by highlighting the valued contributions of our government’s workforce. Our Service to America Medals help energize public servants by recognizing their accomplishments that are having the greatest benefit for the American people. We’ve honored 130 federal employees with awards and promoted the good works of hundreds more by soliciting nominations from agencies across government.
Employee engagement is a complicated issue, but we help federal leaders develop actionable plans to address their unique workforce challenges. We assist agencies in a variety of ways; we help them understand employee survey data and identify issues that need to be addressed. We teach government managers and frontline supervisors how to keep employees engaged over the long term.
Throughout the year we also hold events and online workshops on employee engagement topics, sharing strategies for improvement that have worked at agencies across government.
The Best Places to Work in the Federal Government rankings offer a comprehensive assessment of how federal employees at more than 300 federal agencies and subcomponents view their jobs and workplaces.
