The town hall will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 1978 Civil Service Reform Act—which was the last time Congress passed major reforms to the federal civil service system.
The Partnership for Public Service and the Volcker Alliance will lead a positive and constructive discussion about what is needed to modernize the outdated federal personnel system. Representatives from the current administration and leaders from civilian, military and private sector organizations will share best practices, lessons learned and ideas to help build a high-performing government that can effectively address the significant challenges facing our country.
The town hall will take place during Public Service Recognition Week (May 6-12, 2018), an annual celebration of the women and men who serve our nation as federal, state and local government employees. This event is open to all government employees and the general public.
