Partnership for Public Service Statement on 2017 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey Results

October 12, 2017

Partnership for Public Service President and CEO Max Stier released the following statement regarding the results of the Office of Personnel Management’s 2017 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey.

“Whether it’s responding to hurricanes and wildfires or protecting our interests overseas, federal workers play a pivotal role dealing with the major problems and issues facing our nation,” said Max Stier, president and CEO of the Partnership for Public Service. “Having a highly-motivated and engaged workforce is critical to a well-functioning government and the success of our country, and it is a credit to agency leaders that the overall employee engagement score has improved three years in a row.

While there have been gains during the past three years, there is still an urgent need for progress, especially when comparing the government to good private sector benchmarks. The Trump administration should aspire to make the federal government an employer of choice so that the American public benefits from the best service possible.”

Best Places to Work in the Federal Government rankings are based on data from this annual federal employee survey. The 2017 Best Places to Work rankings will be released later this year. For more information, visit bestplacestowork.org.
