PARTNERSHIP FOR PUBLIC SERVICE PROMOTES MICHELLE AMANTE TO VICE PRESIDENT OF FEDERAL WORKFORCE PROGRAMS

WASHINGTON – The nonpartisan, nonprofit Partnership for Public Service announced today that Michelle Amante has been promoted to vice president of federal workforce programs. In her new role, Amante will support federal agencies by designing and expanding workforce programming based on her extensive knowledge of their needs and goals. 

“Michelle Amante understands what it takes to revitalize the federal government by transforming the way it recruits, hires and manages its workforce,” said Max Stier, the Partnership’s president and CEO. “Michelle’s great capability and insights from her wide range of experiences make her an ideal fit for this position. We are excited about her promotion.”  

Since 2001, the Partnership has built a robust series of programs to improve the federal government’s leadership, management, hiring practices and the delivery of services to the public. In her role, Amante is responsible for leading innovative hiring initiatives and professional development programs at government agencies to strengthen the federal workforce. 

Amante has been with the Partnership’s Federal Workforce Programs team since 2016. As vice president of Federal Workforce Programs, Amante’s primary short-term goal is to guide agencies through employee engagement, recruitment and hiring challenges during the pandemic. Amante and her team oversee many federal internship and fellowship programs including the Cybersecurity Talent Initiative, a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership aimed at recruiting and training a world-class cybersecurity force. She also oversees the Best Places to Work in the Federal Government rankings and the Partnership’s employee engagement work. 

“The Partnership has produced a significant amount of thought leadership on enterprise human capital issues, but we have not done much work directly with agencies, Amante said. “I’m excited about working side by side with federal agencies on their human capital challenges, utilizing our deep research, relationships and expertise to support necessary reform. In this way, we can have a bigger impact on government.” 

Prior to joining the Partnership, Amante served as agency director of the Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance where she led more than 700 employees and managed a $100 million annual budget to successfully modernize the unemployment insurance system and provide services to facilitate re-employment. She also spent several years in a consulting role with Deloitte, where she was responsible for working with unemployment agencies across the nation to modernize IT processes to improve the customer experience.
