Partnership for Public Service statement on Wednesday’s unprecedented assault on our democracy

WASHINGTON – The nonpartisan, nonprofit Partnership for Public Service today released this statement following the tragic events that occurred at the United States Capitol on Wednesday.
“The mayhem at the Capitol on Wednesday was a traumatic and disheartening moment for our country, and a stain on the peaceful transfer of power that has been the hallmark of American democracy for 230 years,” said Max Stier, president and CEO of the Partnership for Public Service. “We stand ready to work with elected leaders who uphold democratic values and the Constitution, and together with the nation’s dedicated public servants, rebuild and restore faith and trust in our government so that we can collectively address today’s critical challenges and those that lie ahead.”
