Jeff McNichols leads the Partnership’s work to help Congress become a healthier institution and a more capable steward of the executive branch. Before joining the Partnership, he headed up government affairs for a commission created by Congress to inspire more Americans to participate in military, national, and public service. Jeff began his career as a U.S. Navy officer before moving to Capitol Hill as a congressional staffer. He went on to work in the Department of Defense and to deploy to Afghanistan as an Army civilian adviser before working with government agencies at the Boston Consulting Group. His favorite public servants are Senator Richard Lugar, whose bipartisan leadership led to the dismantling of Cold War nuclear arsenals in the former Soviet Union, and his father, Tom McNichols, a trial court judge and federal administrative law judge who inspired him to serve a cause greater than himself.
