Leia Washington supports the Partnership’s federal workforce efforts to help agencies recruit and hire the next generation of public servants. She manages the Rosenthal Fellowship in International Relations, a federal government fellowship for graduate-level students, and supports various other programs designed to support federal human capital work. Her interest in public service began when she worked in the Ohio Senate, where she observed firsthand the positive impact that public officials could have on the day-to-day lives of constituents. This passion developed throughout her time at Ohio State University, where she studied public management, leadership and policy in the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. Leia’s favorite public servant is Senator Ted Kennedy, for his long tenure in the Senate and devotion to social justice reforms.
