Shelby Wenner Manager, Innovation

Shelby Wenner manages projects to foster innovation in the federal government, including initiatives focused on addressing barriers to change, developing innovation best practices to overcome those barriers, and engaging with the innovation community. Her passion for public service and social impact grew through her work with a variety of healthcare and arts nonprofits in D.C. and while receiving her MBA in Chicago. One of Shelby’s favorite public servants is Shirley Chisholm, a former educator and the first African American woman elected to Congress who helped found the Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional Women’s Caucus. Chisolm ran for the presidency in 1972, “in spite of hopeless odds … to demonstrate the sheer will and refusal to accept the status quo.”
