Featured April 28, 2020 Three tips to help you collaborate across agencies and sectors Back to Blog Bringing the Partnership to the West Coast Date September 10, 2020 | Updated on November 30, 2020 Authors Tags Government Effectiveness Since 2001, the Partnership for Public Service has transformed the way government works by delivering leadership development programs, increasing employee engagement and helping agencies recruit top talent into the federal workforce. But with 85% of federal employees based outside of the Washington, D.C., area, we needed to expand our reach. To that end, we are pleased to announce Partnership West, an extension of the Partnership’s operations to the West Coast, starting in California— home to more than 150,000 civil servants and the largest regional population of federal workers outside our nation’s capital. As California grapples with pressing concerns – from the COVID-19 pandemic to massive wildfires across the state – it continues to need a rich pool of mission-oriented federal employees skilled in supporting both state and local governments and building new cross-sector networks. Partnership West will use the Partnership’s expertise to help foster collaborative federal offices in California. We aim to support these agency field offices through research, cross-agency initiatives and customized programming in three main areas: Federal talent pipelines. Agency networks, collaboration and innovation. Leadership development. We are grateful for our existing partners and are excited to work across the public, private and nonprofit sectors to drive meaningful change in California. This work is only the beginning of Partnership West. We look forward to expanding our efforts across the region in years to come.
