Dr. Fauci’s thanks to public servants was one of many highlights of this year’s Public Service Recognition Week
Here are some highlights of the ways that the Partnership and federal leaders used social media during Public Service Recognition Week to thank public servants for their dedication and support, which is especially critical now as the nation battles the coronavirus pandemic.
Video message from Dr. Fauci
Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and a 2020 Sammies finalist, shared a thank you message on Twitter to all public servants working in health care, especially those on the front lines fighting the coronavirus pandemic.
“I feel privileged to be a part of this team effort, and I am optimistic that we will get through this together.” Watch the video below to see Dr. Fauci’s full message.
Agency leaders congratulated Sammies finalists
Federal leaders gave special shoutouts to employees in their agencies who are finalists for a 2020 Service to America Medals after the Partnership announced the 27 “Sammies” finalists the first week of May.



HHS Instagram takeover
The Department of Health and Human Services took over the Partnership’s Instagram account to celebrate public service and the employees who work tirelessly to fulfill the agency’s mission. HHS shared a behind-the-scenes look at the employees working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic and a video message from Deputy Secretary Eric Hargan.
