Partnership for Public Service President and CEO Max Stier Statement on Amanda Bennett’s nomination to lead the U.S. Agency for Global Media

September 21, 2022

WASHINGTON – “The Senate should quickly vote to confirm Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and former Voice of America director Amanda Bennett to head the U.S. Agency for Global Media.

Bennett is dedicated to maintaining the highest journalistic standards and advancing the U.S. Agency for Global Media’s mission of objectivity and balanced reporting at a time when disinformation and authoritarian regimes are on the rise globally. She will bring years of journalistic experience and management expertise to the job along with a sense of pragmatism that will allow her to quickly adapt to changing circumstances to deliver thoughtful, fact-based and unbiased news to audiences worldwide.

Bennett’s distinguished journalistic career has been devoted to providing truthful, trustworthy news and information to the public, and that background and dedication will serve our country and audiences worldwide during these troubling times when press freedom and democracy are declining around the world.”
