Partnership for Public Service applauds President Biden’s selection of Tom Nides to be ambassador to Israel

WASHINGTON – The nonpartisan, nonprofit Partnership for Public Service released the following statement from President and CEO Max Stier following President Joe Biden’s announcement that he has chosen Tom Nides to be ambassador to Israel. 

“President Joe Biden has made an excellent decision by choosing Tom Nides to serve as the United States ambassador to Israel,” Stier said. “Tom will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to this critically important job, and he will be a major asset to the administration as it seeks to promote stability in the region. 

Stier continued, “Tom’s previous experience in government, including his time as deputy secretary at the State Department during the Obama administration, is complemented by his leadership at top companies that include Morgan Stanley, where he currently serves as managing director and vice chairman. 

“During his time as a member of the Partnership for Public Service’s board of directors, Tom has been integral in guiding our growth and advancing our mission. He is a special talent, and we’ve been lucky to benefit from his time and energy. I am thrilled that Tom Nides will have the opportunity to serve our country once again in this crucial role.” 

Tom Bernstein, president of Chelsea Piers Management, Inc. and chairman of the Partnership for Public Service board of directors, described Nides as “a skilled and thoughtful leader who has demonstrated an unyielding commitment to public service throughout his career.” 

“While we will miss Tom greatly on the Partnership’s board of directors, our loss is the country’s gain as he moves on to the next chapter of his remarkable public service,” Bernstein said. 

Nides has served on the Partnership for Public Service’s board of directors and chaired its governance committee since June 2018.
