Partnership for Public Service statement on nomination of Russell Vought to lead OMB

The nonpartisan, nonprofit Partnership for Public Service today released the following statement from President and CEO Max Stier on the nomination of Russell Vought to lead the Office of Management and Budget: 

“In selecting Russell Vought to lead the Office of Management and Budget, President-elect Donald Trump has chosen someone with experience helming one of the most important agencies at the center of government. OMB’s leadership is vital to an effective, well-managed government focused on delivering results for the public. We look forward to working with Mr. Vought in supporting the expert career federal workforce toward achieving that goal. 

“The Partnership’s Vision for a Better Government outlines key reforms that would strengthen the civil service system and center it on results. Our government needs to be able to hire faster, remove poor performers more easily, use technology more effectively and create a stronger culture of customer service. We hope Mr. Vought will embrace these ideas and welcome the opportunity to support advancing them.”
