Partnership for Public Service statement on Passage of Bipartisan Recommendations for Congressional Modernization

July 19, 2022

WASHINGTON – The nonpartisan, nonprofit Partnership for Public Service released the following statement from President and CEO Max Stier on the 29 recommendations passed today by the House Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress. These bipartisan recommendations will strengthen congressional oversight capacity, modernize district office operations, support innovative workspaces and address congressional continuity.

“Today’s recommendations from the Modernization Committee accelerate improvements in the effectiveness and efficiency of Congress – one of our most important democratic institutions,” said Max Stier, president and CEO of the Partnership for Public Service.  “These recommendations will equip members and their staff with the resources and tools needed to fulfill their duties and better serve the people of this diverse nation. We strongly support these recommendations and believe they will both yield more effective agency oversight and increase collaboration between congressional offices and federal agencies.”
