Partnership for Public Service statement on President Biden’s executive order on equity in policymaking

February 17, 2023

WASHINGTON – The nonpartisan, nonprofit Partnership for Public Service today released the following statement from President and CEO Max Stier after President Joe Biden announced a new executive order focused on equity in government services:

“President Biden’s call today to center equity in policymaking and service delivery is both critical and overdue. Too many Americans, especially in communities of color, feel that government does not exist to serve people like them, which contributes to the public mistrust of government. Building on prior efforts, today’s executive order continues making these issues a priority and establishes teams within agencies to carry the work forward over the long term. With these actions, the administration aims to meaningfully address longstanding discrimination and ensure government serves all people.”
