PARTNERSHIP FOR PUBLIC SERVICE STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF CONGRESSMAN ELIJAH CUMMINGS

October 17, 2019

WASHINGTON – Partnership for Public Service President and CEO Max Stier released the following statement following the passing of longtime Baltimore Congressman Elijah Cummings.

“The Partnership for Public Service is deeply saddened by the passing of Congressman Elijah Cummings. He was a passionate advocate for the federal workforce, and epitomized the best of public service. The congressman used his leadership of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform to hold government accountable to the people it serves. Even in the current polarized environment, he was willing to work across the political aisle for the benefit of his constituents and the American public. Mr. Cummings was a friend of the Partnership and an ally in our efforts to make government more effective. We thank him for his public service.”
