May 3, 2020 In any year, being a finalist for the Career Achievement Award is one of the highest possible honors for a federal public servant. The Service to America Medal — the “Sammies,” awarded by the nonpartisan Partnership for Public Service — are the Oscars of government. This year, though, five of the nominees might be forgiven if their joy is a bit tempered. The sixth finalist is Anthony S. Fauci. How fair is that?
