Partnership for Public Service welcomes Jenny Mattingley as Vice President of Government Affairs

February 6, 2023

WASHINGTON – The nonpartisan, nonprofit Partnership for Public Service today announced that Jenny Mattingley has joined the organization as vice president of government affairs. In this role, Mattingley will head the government affairs team and oversee the strategic direction for the Partnership’s government affairs and advocacy efforts, which are focused on improving the operations and management of the executive branch and supporting and strengthening the federal civil service.

“Improving and modernizing government management is central to our efforts to build a more effective government,” said Max Stier, the Partnership’s president and CEO. “Jenny’s keen understanding of the challenges and opportunities specifically on issues around hiring, employee engagement, leadership and government effectiveness are critical to our work to support and improve the federal workforce. Her impressive career working in and around the federal government demonstrates the significant impact she will have at the Partnership. We are thrilled to welcome Jenny.”

Mattingley comes to the Partnership after working at the Office of Management and Budget, where she led efforts to improve the federal hiring process and create a stronger federal workforce. Prior to OMB, she served as the executive director of the federal Performance Improvement Council and was the founding director of the White House Leadership Development Program, which focuses on developing enterprise senior leaders across government. Mattingley also previously advised good government organizations on policy and advocacy issues related to government management.

“The federal government and the dedicated public servants who work for it require the resources, policies and tools to better meet their missions and service the public. The Partnership has a long history of identifying best practices, policy changes and implementation support to ensure our government works effectively,” Mattingley said. “It is an honor to join such a strong team at the Partnership and to continue the necessary and important work of supporting federal employees, sharing stories of the work they do for the public day in and day out, and liaising with Congress to push forward on efforts to strengthen and modernize the civil service.”
