Partnership for Public Service statement on Danny Werfel nomination to be the next commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service

WASHINGTON – Partnership for Public Service President and CEO Max Stier issued the following statement on President Biden’s nomination of Danny Werfel to be the next commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service: 

“Danny Werfel is a proven and effective leader who has many years of experience in government management, a deep understanding of the IRS, a respect for our nation’s federal employees and someone who is committed to being a nonpartisan steward of the public trust. There is no better person to lead the IRS during this critical moment of challenge and opportunity. 

“I urge the Senate to quickly consider Danny Werfel’s nomination and confirm him for this important position.”
