Unfortunately, relatively few interns and other student employees end up taking permanent federal jobs. Many federal agencies fail to incorporate student employment or internship programs into their strategic planning about how to meet future workforce needs of the agency. Federal agencies should specifically include student employment programs in their strategic workforce planning efforts as a talent pool for future permanent hires. Download (349k)
