Kaelyn Milby supports research and analysis at the Partnership, currently focusing on improving federal surge hiring. She discovered a passion for research while helping analyze U.S.-NATO relations during the Clinton administration at the Library of Congress’s John W. Kluge Centre. She furthered her interest in government research while interning at the Bipartisan Policy Center, where she aided research in party platforms and presidential transitions. Kaelyn took a gap year after graduating from Amherst College to travel abroad, where she witnessed the disillusionment and damaging impacts on democracy which stem from an ineffective government. She returned to the U.S. determined to use her skills to promote better government and was drawn to the Partnership’s mission. Her favorite public servant is Frances Perkins, the first woman to serve in a presidential cabinet, who worked to enact social welfare laws and led efforts to establish minimum wage and end child labor.
