The federal government is our most important public asset for addressing our country’s collective challenges. When it works well, our needs are met, our country grows stronger and our democracy thrives. When it fails, individuals and communities falter, our country is weaker and our democracy declines.

That’s why the mismanagement of our government—from arbitrary cuts of federal personnel, programming and funding to the politicization of the nonpartisan civil service—has real consequences for individuals, communities and our country.

The Partnership is working to show that while government can be improved, haphazardly dismantling it only creates further harm. Through various efforts, we are demonstrating why our government matters and what is at stake when it is managed ineffectively.
