We all have a stake in ensuring the government meets the needs of our country.

But today, amid declining trust in—and unprecedented efforts to reshape—federal institutions, the fundamental mission of government is under threat, putting us all at risk.

Whether you are a member of the public, a current or former civil servant, a policymaker or a fellow champion of good government, you can help safeguard and strengthen our federal government so it continues to work for us all.

Share your story

Share your story to help demonstrate why public servants matter and what is at stake if their work is interrupted. Craft a post or record a video for social media, or write an op-ed or letter to the editor, to inform the public about effective government.

Contact your elected leaders

Write or call your member of Congress or the White House to let your representatives or the administration know what you expect from government, how its mismanagement directly harms you or your community, and why a nonpartisan civil service is essential to our country.

Host or participate in community events

Participate in a local town hall or community event to share how government has positively impacted you or your community. If you are a former public servant, tell people about the work you did and how people benefited. Organizations can also host networking events for public servants or organize community programs that focus on how disrupting the work of government is affecting people locally.
