Protected: Major Investments Major Investments The premier nonpartisan source of knowledge management and expertise for the implementation of major federal investment programs. Historic measures such as the American Rescue Plan, the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the CHIPS and Science Act represent a once-in-a-generation investment by the federal government in American infrastructure, economic relief, energy resilience, manufacturing and national security. Our government must function effectively to ensure that communities across the country benefit from the programs and services created by these investments. Delivering on this promise requires exceptional leadership, effective systems and processes, and new ways of collaborating with partners inside and outside government. However, federal leaders lack a true roadmap to meet these critical objectives. At the Partnership, we are helping to create this roadmap by developing a new learning system—an ongoing source of knowledge and expertise for implementing large-scale investment programs. This learning system features two complementary resources: a community of practice for peer leaders, which we call our Major Investments Community, and short-form resources, tailored specifically for practitioners, that are composed of insights from this community and from our independent research. Building on lessons of the past, these resources will enable current and future federal investments to strengthen our country and shape people’s lives for the better. This work is essential to the health of our democracy: By meeting public needs in new ways, our government can reset its relationship with those it serves, regaining the public’s trust at a time when most Americans hold negative views of federal institutions. Resources The Partnership for Public Service is developing short-form resources that federal leaders can use to implement current and future major investments. These resources are based on insights gathered from our community of practice and from our independent research, highlighting the successes and challenges of implementation. We will add to the list of resources below as we continue our work in this area.
